Home again after 2500ks tootling around NSW with Mal, from the rally site on Monday morning we decided to go to Tamworth to put some new rubber on Sophia when the weather started to catch up with us. So with tyres done we headed off and it pissed down, so Top pub at Uralla was were we made it to. Good accommodation and as it was Mall’s 67th birthday we had a slap up meal, next day clear skies so up to Armidale and down the waterfall way, beautiful weather great ride through to Barowvile and club member Mark’s place for the night, nice place he has bought.
Then down to Wauchope and up the Oxley to the coffee shop then back down and up again (as you do) thru to Walcha, down Thunderbolts to Gloucester for a night at the pub. Next morning we decide to do the Bylong Valley out to Gulgong to catch up with some friends of mine. Yesterday thru Mudgee to Bathurst via Hill End, what a nice ride that was, to Lithgow on the way a cold front came thru 6 deg.C. without the wind chill factor, so we whoosed it and stayed in a pub at Lithgow, Mal has no head light.
This morning up early up the Bells line, until I thought it would be nice to have a coffee at Tootie Fruity, came in to fast touched the brakes on the gravel , and YES for the first time dropped the old girl in the gravel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lost one mirror, snapped off a foot peg, destroyed the plug cap and bent the brake leaver way back. So fortunately the brake leaver bent back without snapping, a self tapping screw into the plug lead and a length of wire got me going again.
She dose now have some battle scars on the tappet cover, screen and right hand muffler and I have a badly sprained thumb. One other mishap is the cross over pipe broke clean thru, around the weld before the muffler, on Thursday, I had patched that up at Gulgong but it broke thru again today. Oh well shit happens, but otherwise a great weeks ridding and if that’s the worst that happens things could be a lot worse. To add insult to injury the F..ing coffee shop wasn’t open!
I might add that you can call me 1 point but Mal has only 2, so speed limits were obeyed in the most part.
